This Privacy Policy applies to the Nistin Lyrics Android application and the Nistin Lyrics website (including nl.nsnhub.uk and any other domain we operate), collectively "the Service."

Nistin Jose ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Nistin Lyrics app and website as a free, non-commercial devotional lyrics resource. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have — in line with Google Play's Developer Program Policies (including the User Data and Data Safety requirements) and applicable data protection laws such as the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Nistin Lyrics, we may collect the following information:

• Account Information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo/identifier to personalize your experience and sync your data across devices.
• User-Generated Content: Song lyrics, titles, artist/contributor names, and related metadata that you submit through the app or website.
• Usage Data: Anonymized analytics about how you use the Service (screens visited, features used, session duration) via Firebase Analytics.
• Crash & Diagnostic Data: Automatic crash logs and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics to help us identify and fix bugs.
• Bug/Support Reports: If you voluntarily submit a bug report or contact support, we collect your message, device/browser information (user agent), and account identifier (if signed in).
• Device & Log Data: Standard technical data such as IP address, device/browser type, operating system, and access timestamps, collected automatically by our hosting and analytics providers for security and diagnostic purposes.
• Local Storage / Cookies (Website): The website uses localStorage and similar browser storage (not third-party advertising cookies) to remember your preferences, theme, pinned songs, and sign-in state on your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and maintain the Service's core functionality (browse, search, and read song lyrics)
• Enable user contributions (submit lyrics for review and publication)
• Sync your pinned songs, submissions, and preferences across your signed-in devices
• Improve performance, diagnose crashes, and fix issues
• Personalize your experience (saved preferences, themes, pinned songs)
• Communicate with you about your submissions (approval status, moderation feedback) and respond to support requests
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security incidents

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Consent: For optional features like Google Sign-In and analytics, where required.
• Contract: To provide the Service you request (e.g., syncing your account data).
• Legitimate Interests: To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the Service, in ways that do not override your fundamental rights.
• Legal Obligation: Where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored and protected using industry-standard practices:

• Firebase (Google Cloud): Account data and song submissions are stored in Firebase Realtime Database / Firestore with security rules that restrict read/write access.
• Local Device Storage: Your preferences, pinned songs, and cached song database are stored locally on your device or browser.
• Encryption: All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. Lyrics content is encrypted at rest using AES-256 before storage.
• Access Controls: Administrative access to the backend is restricted to authenticated sessions and limited to the developer.
• No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each of which may collect information governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Sign-In / Firebase Authentication: For account creation and login. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Realtime Database / Firestore: For storing app and user data. Subject to Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Analytics: For anonymized usage statistics.
• Firebase Crashlytics: For crash reporting. Crash reports do not intentionally include personally identifiable information.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): For optional push notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device or browser settings.
• Firebase Hosting: For serving the website version of the Service.

We do not control these third parties' data practices and encourage you to review their policies directly.

6. Data Retention

• Account Data: Retained as long as you have an active account, or until you request deletion.
• Song Submissions: Approved/published submissions may be retained as part of the shared lyrics database even after account deletion, since they form part of a shared community resource; attribution may be anonymized on request.
• Analytics Data: Automatically retained for up to 14 months by Firebase, then deleted or aggregated.
• Crash/Bug Report Data: Retained only as long as necessary to diagnose and resolve the underlying issue.
• Local Data: Cleared when you uninstall the app, clear app data, or clear your browser's site data.

7. Account & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed:

1. In-App: Go to My Hub > Profile & Settings > Delete Account (if available in your app version), or use Settings > Report Bug / Feedback to request deletion.
2. By Email: Send a request to NistinLyrics@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request."

We will process verified deletion requests within 30 days. This deletes your account profile, sign-in credentials, and private preferences. As noted above, publicly published lyrics submissions may be retained as part of the shared community database, but we will remove your name/attribution from them upon request.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Regardless of where you live, you generally have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Delete your personal data and account (see Section 7)
• Export your data (via the app's backup/export feature, where available)
• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g., by signing out or revoking Google account access)
• Opt out of analytics data collection by contacting us

9. European Users (GDPR/UK)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you additionally have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. We aim to respond to all rights requests within one month, as required by the GDPR.

10. California Users (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

11. Children's Privacy

Nistin Lyrics is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without verified parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information should contact us using the details in Section 19.

12. Content Ownership, Copyright & Takedown (DMCA)

Song lyrics displayed in the Service may be protected by copyright owned by the original songwriters, composers, or publishers. Lyrics are made available for personal, non-commercial, devotional and educational use only. We do not claim ownership of third-party copyrighted lyrics, and the Service does not generate advertising revenue from displaying them.

Karaoke tracks and streamed audio: Any backing tracks, instrumentals, or audio files made available for karaoke/sing-along playback are likewise the property of their respective composers, performers, labels, or publishers. We do not claim ownership of this audio, do not permanently host or redistribute copies for download outside the app's intended playback feature, and stream it solely to support congregational/devotional singing. If you are a rights holder for any audio or lyrics and would prefer it not be made available through the Service, please contact us using the process below and we will remove it promptly.

If you are a copyright owner (or an authorized agent) and believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice to NistinLyrics@gmail.com including:

• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• Identification of the material you claim is infringing, and its location within the Service
• Your contact information (name, email, and, if applicable, physical address)
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the above information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the identified content.

13. User-Generated Content & Your Responsibilities

By submitting lyrics or other content to the Service, you represent that:

• You have the right to submit the content, or a good-faith belief that your use qualifies as fair use/fair dealing for a non-commercial, devotional purpose;
• Your submission does not violate any third party's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other legal rights;
• Your submission does not contain unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable material.

We reserve the right to review, edit, reject, or remove any submitted content at our discretion, without prior notice. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Nistin Jose and the Nistin Lyrics project from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from content you submit or your misuse of the Service.

If you discover a security vulnerability in the Service, please report it responsibly to NistinLyrics@gmail.com rather than disclosing it publicly. We appreciate your help in keeping Nistin Lyrics safe for everyone and will acknowledge valid reports as quickly as we can.

16. International Data Transfers

Your information may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, via our use of Firebase/Google Cloud infrastructure. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection safeguards (such as Google's Standard Contractual Clauses, where applicable).

This Privacy Policy and any dispute arising from your use of the Service are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection law provides otherwise.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements (including Google Play policy updates). Material changes will be posted within the app and on this page, along with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
